May 8, 2018 It's not very often you see a vintage Ducati in such good condition going for such a temptingly low price. Go to any big auction and a mint '70s Ducati sports bike will easily see five figures. But then again, not every Ducati has such a troubled history as the Sport Desmo 500.

1977 Ducati 500 Sport Desmo. Ducati introduced the 500cc parallel twin in 1975, and it was a commercial failure. To try and shake things up, the Italian company asked Fabio Taglioni to give the engine desmodromic valves. The result was the Sport Desmo, which had a significant jump in power but didn't do much to shake the engine's reputation.

It is nearly all there, just missing a few small things like turn indicators, cables, it doesn't run at the moment but was run a few years ago. It has been sitting in a shed since then.
